This is the first time we went, as a family to explore a different country and by that I mean aside from UK and Philippines. It was also the first time I’m visiting Philippines after I came to the UK. It was also the first time I had my eye brows done haha. Too much information? Sorry ^^,”
It was an extended stop over, we thought to save time and explore more places we will start extending our stay in our stop overs. Since I am writing it after a few years ago, I am depending on my memory. I think we stayed there for 3 nights and 2 days. When we first got there, OMG, you can’t imagine how humid and hot it was and it didn’t help that we found it very hard to find the hostel that we were staying at. There are so many people everywhere! Dragging our heavy suitcases here and there, can you imagine? Sweat patches or what! 😛 In the end we did manage to find it and thank God it had air conditioning!
After we checked in and settled our things. We didn’t waste time, we went to explore the area and had some good food! Well SHOPPING will always be on top of the list and if I remember correctly my sister bought a Nintendo DS there and I bought a some what similar item which I am guilty of not using as much, until now. My mum also bought a cam recorder, which was not also as much as we would like it to be. Yes we are all guilty of buying stuff we don’t always end up using. We bought at least 2 pairs of shoes or sandals each. Which one of them I end up returning because I have a wide feet so it was just giving me blisters. And the other sandals I bought got ruined when I wore it in Philippines and had to walk over the flood. It was because we went there in August and it is a monsoon season, but it can’t be helped the education system there and in UK are totally different so my summer holiday is completely different from their summer holiday.
Anyway back to Hong Kong, did you know that so far in all McDonald I have been in, only Hong Kong serves soup! So Asian or what? It was so cool and of course I had it and it was tasty and refreshing for a fast food restaurant. We also went to Ocean Park and got on the cable car. It felt a bit scary, I’m not a fan of height but I’m not scared to the extent that I won’t get on high rides. Speaking of rides, we went on this roller coaster which is not that big and it only had a bar that goes in your lap to secure you in place. It was a fast ride and did we feel like we were going to flew off it or what! It was one scary ride. Did I mention it was on the top of the mountain? We saw a water show with dolphins ans sea lions. We also saw some PANDA! 😀
We saw Buddha temples and shrines too. Of course we couldn’t leave without having more good food! We are a foodie family after all! Unfortunately we couldn’t go up to the skyline rooftop as it was too expensive and we couldn’t afford to spend so much especially we haven’t even reached our final destination of our holiday! So we opted for a digital photo with the Hong Kong skyline instead, still did the magic I guess hehe ^^,
Okay that is all for now folks, see you in the next destination… PHILIPPINES! 🙂
